About Doris Time

The country may be in depression but you don't have to be...

Doris Time is a private members group that brings fun and like-minded people between the ages of 25-45 together in an event-based social situation. Whether it's a tennis tournament, the theatre or a picnic in the park on a summer's afternoon, Doris Time provides a convivial and relaxed atmosphere to meet up with old and new friends.

Here at Doris Time we understand that those of us with two left feet may prefer charging down the hockey turf and the smashing of hockey sticks, to a Strictly style dance lesson. That's why Doris Time organizes a variety of activities to ensure there is something that will appeal to everyone. And if you have any ideas for future events, Doris Time welcomes suggestions.

Entry to Doris Time is by recommendation from an existing member. If you would like to attend an event before becoming a member and meet other members who can recommend you, please contact pa@doristime.com and we are happy to let you do this at one of our open events.

If you want your own evening or event but don't have the time to organise this - we are happy to arrange this for you - you let us know what you'd like to do and what your budget is and we'll make it happen. If you're interested in this then please e mail claudia@doristime.com.

How It Started

Pollyanne's passions and luckily, she happens to be quite good at them are organising social events and introducing people to each other.

Pollyanne perfected these skills after arranging countless social occasions for herself and her friends to meet up. As their schedules got busier, Pollyanne and her friends found that catching up with each other, as well as meeting new people, became more difficult. It seemed that in order to continue to have an active social life, it was necessary to have someone (usually Pollyanne!) organise social events.

Having someone else arrange the events removed the hassle from friends organising events themselves (and the guilt when running late). Events were fun to attend, especially when accompanied by an activity or entertainment. You were also assured of meeting new people. In fact, once or twice, Pollyanne discovered that Cupid's Arrow had struck following one of her introductions. Doris Time was born.

The Website - doristime.com

There are lots of networking sites out there - however the purpose of this website is simply to provide a quick and straightforward vehicle for you to register and book for events. Our view is that your spare time is precious and therefore you should spend as little time as possible staring at a screen and instead meet people the traditional way!
