Rallarvegen, following the outskirts of the Hardangervidda Plateau, leads you along the Bergen Railway Line from Haugastøl via Finse, Hallingskeid, Myrdal and down to Flåm. The road by itself is an attraction, but it also brings you through a fantastic highland area starting at 1000 meters above sea level (a.s.l.), peaking at 1300 meters for then to lead you back down to the fjords at sea level. Thursday Arrive in Bergen late. Sleep at Bergen Hostel Friday 10:28 Depart Bergen with NSB (Train) heading for the starting point at Haugastøl. The train station is within walking distance from the Hostel, thru beautiful Downtown Bergen. Meet up with Martin at Haugastøl and get assigned cycles and gear. Cycle to Finse 21:00 Dinner Shower, relax and time to look around at Finse before dinner. Dorm! Saturday 08:30 Depart Finse Cycle 15:00 Arrive Flåm Cabins! If you guys are up for it after a long day cycling, a fjord paddle is highly recommended Sunday 11:00 Depart Flåm 14:22 Take the spectacular Flåmsbanen to Myrdal, where you connect with the Oslo – Bergen Train. There is also a chance to see the Huldra singing at one of the waterfalls on the way from Flåm to Myrdal |
